Bond and Damages Policy

At The C Space, we are committed to maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment for all events. To protect our venue, hire items, and partner-supplied equipment, a security bond is required for each booking. This bond acts as a safeguard against potential damages, theft, excessive cleaning, or disruption during your hire period.

The bond amount is determined based on the type of event and the risk involved, as assessed by the venue owner. Factors such as the nature of the event, the number of guests, and the likelihood of potential damage will influence the bond required.

For instance, adult parties may incur a higher bond due to the increased risk of spills and other damages compared to children’s events.

Your bond may be partially or fully withheld to cover the following:

• Damage to the venue, furnishings, equipment or any hired items

• Theft or loss of any items belonging to The C Space, including but not limited to décor, bathroom or kitchen items, furniture, or venue hire items

• Damage to soft play or jumping castles supplied by The Little Play Co during the event

• Excessive cleaning – a charge of $100 per hour will apply for cleaning deemed beyond standard post-event cleaning (this is in excess of the mandatory Saturday evening cleaning fee)

• Improper waste disposal, including unbagged food waste or incorrect bin usage (e.g., recyclables in general waste)

• Noise complaints or disturbances that impact neighbours or nearby businesses

• Disruptive behaviour requiring venue staff intervention or management presence

• Loss of revenue if damage results in a cancelled or delayed booking for the next client

• Overtime charges – the venue must be vacated by 12:00am. Failure to do so will incur a fee of $300 per hour, charged in full-hour increments

Clients are expected to treat the venue and all hire items with care. Please ensure:

• Spills are cleaned immediately using the provided cleaning materials

• Special care is taken with our polished concrete floors, which may stain if spills are left untreated

• All hire items, including backdrops, furniture, props and soft play, are used appropriately and returned in the same condition as provided

• All items from The Little Play Co, including soft play and jumping castles, are supervised and used safely at all times

• Guests behave respectfully – clients are liable for damage caused by their guests, vendors or contractors

• Any pre-existing damage is reported upon arrival to avoid disputes

Following your event, The C Space management will carry out a thorough inspection of:

• The venue and all facilities

• All hire items and equipment

• Items supplied by The Little Play Co, such as soft play and inflatable castles

• Cleanliness of all areas

• Whether the venue was vacated on time

• Correct waste disposal and item returns

If the venue and hire items are returned in the same condition they were provided and no issues arise, the full bond will be refunded within 7 to 10 business days.

If damage, loss or cleaning requirements exceed the value of the bond, the client will be invoiced for the remaining balance. Failure to settle outstanding costs may result in legal action and the denial of future bookings.

If the cost of damage or cleaning exceeds the bond amount, the client will be invoiced for the remaining balance.

In the event of a dispute regarding the bond, The C Space will provide documentation, including photos and reports, to support any deductions. We aim to resolve any disputes amicably and fairly, based on the evidence available.

By booking with The C Space, clients agree to the terms outlined in this Bond and Damages Policy. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain the quality of our venue and hire items for all guests.
